I’ve worked as a communications consultant for a little over a decade, helping brands get their news on the pages of major newspapers, magazines and blogs, and tell their story via online influencers, and social and digital media. I’ve been lucky enough to work across a range of industries, with clients large and small. This has included major brands like ALDI, ANZ, Facebook and McWilliam’s Wines, boutique consultancies including Bendelta and PUSH Collective, and budding startups such as Asha Yoga.
After spending seven years at global communications firms, I started consulting independently. In doing so, I was able to deliver a better service to my clients by cutting down on the admin that chews up so much valuable time in an agency environment - I was getting to focus on the work that really mattered to the organisations I worked with.
During this time, I spoke to multiple startups and small businesses who were looking for help to build their business - what I consistently found was that new business owners were willing to do their own communications if it meant cutting down on costs, but they just didn’t know where to start. Plus, they felt a little overwhelmed at the thought of identifying and engaging with journalists, online influencers and stakeholders. I knew there was a better way to help startups make their mark - SUADA was the result.
